He called for burning of tyres. This is stupid, but not inciting violence against anyone. He also called for a march against the YL's actions. Again, this is not inciting violence. I'm just not able to grasp the logical jumps the rest of you are making here...

You could say he is calling for action that could easily spiral out of control resulting in violence?
 
Well you agree the burning of tyres is stupid and i reckon burning tyres will only cause problems.

Call for a march, wonderful idea and would be supported.

The OP used the term 'violence' in the thread title. That's about as far as violence goes in this picture. Burning tyres, however, is often associated with violent protest especially in this country so I guess that's where people are picking up on this whole "violence" thing.

Plato should just admit he said an idiotic thing before aunty Helen comes out and washes his mouth clean with a bar of soap in front of the whole country. :p

In that case why call for any mass action, ever? If as you say it could spiral out of control. He's incited nothing but non-violent actions based on the article. The burning of tyres does not constitute destruction of property, unless of course the tyres have been stolen. Even then, it doesn't constitute as inciting violence...

Big difference between peaceful protest and burning tyres. When you start burning tyres that increases tensions, adrenalin, risk of injury etc and hence things can spiral out of control.

As for the tyres themselves I doubt the DA is supplying them or the protesters bringing their own lol so there would probably be plenty of stealing going on. Again increasing the risk of violence.

The burning of even a single tire should be dealt with harshly, in terms of stiff municipal by-law and environmental fines.

It's destruction of the environment in no uncertain terms and should be punished severely.
