Is there anyone out there who has managed to actually get to the cinema to watch The Disaster Artist?

I logged onto the Nu Metro website this morning to check the show times for Saturday to discover that the movie is only showing in 2 cinemas for today and tomorrow, during the day in cinemas across the country. In less than 2 weeks the movies has come and gone.

So they release a movie during the middle of the month when nobody has money in what seems to have been a very limited release. Even Ster Kinekor is taking the movie off after tomorrow. The good news is that they have showings today and tomorrow in a cinema nearby but during the day, when normal people are at work.

I have been waiting for months to watch this movie but can't because I blinked and missed it.

I understand that they are businesses and profit is the name of the game. There is no way that a movie like The Disaster Artist will compete with something like Black Panther but surely they can show the movie at reasonable times during the weekend? I'd take even just one show late at night.

It just seems that these days there is no room for anything that doesn't have Marvel attached to it or the 10th sequel to a movie about transforming toasters.

I really just need to vent a bit.

I was trying to go the legal route. Seems bootleg it will have to be

Just pirate it then and support NM with the toasters.

Cool movie. Already saw via streaming a few weeks ago but actually found it on the usual sites today. Grabbing it later :)

I couldn't make it through this movie. The cringe level is too much for me. The trailer is really deceptive about making the humour seem digestible.

I thought the movie was excellent. James Franco did an amazing job portraying Tommy. Even his accent. I don’t think the movie was meant to be hysterical, more along the lines of the story of making of the film.
