The Dolby Ipad Thread

So decided to rather upgrade to 5.0, couldn't jailbreak 4.3.5 anyway, or so I read. Had to do it the direct download way, iTunes didn't want to work out. Busy doing the firmware update now.

Just a few questions though. USSDs how do I call it and how do I get the mGtalk thing to work. My login keeps failing even though I can get onto my mail with those exact details.

So in other words, you'd like an option or alternative?

Apple don't really do that for you ;)

How about an iStore?

You lost me here - what configuration? The iOS upgrade?

After the iOS upgrade, I had to do configuration on the tablet, but it wanted a wifi connection. And the only option it gives you is look for wifi or start over.

I have the telkom do3 option and this time of the month I don't have international bandwidth left, but luckily I had a few megabytes left from my afrihost account. Just a pain having to change my router settings.

Interesting, what sort of configuration?

Day 4 or so for me now, I finally get to play with it properly - sim swap only worked today.

I must say, somethings aren't as intuitive as I thought it would be. Struggled to get all my contacts from gmail, had to google it. A few things that irrated me was that I have to add my password everytime I want to download an app, can't it just remember me?

iTunes isn't as bad as some people make it out, just finished importing all my CD's all 8 of it. Was quite painless. I hope getting PDFs in there is also so painless. The music player is quite nice, and the interfaces for everything is so clean and everything runs extremely smoothly.

Will give more feedback as I plot along.

IIRC when I added my Gmail address it automatically imported the contacts as well.

That is irritating. Although, with my 2-year old daughter playing with my ipad it is actually a blessing. :)

Just do you want to connect to the cloud, where you from, and then choose a network then it wants to contact something.
I didnt have any problems with that over 3g.

Too true. :D My bank balance would be in serious peril!

Bwana - you have the 20mb 3G limit when downloading an app though?

Didn't want me to continue, so you didn't give it a wifi network to connect to?
Not that I recall but could be mistaken. I don't see any reason why it shouldnt work though.

Havent had the need to try, all my apps were already on my laptop.

Niiiiiiice!!! Wow! Can't believe it :)

Made my Sunday!

Go read my views ; at the end I said I'd never get rid of it ...

Can anyone confirm the version of iOS the fnb iPads come with, really don't feel like another iOS 5 download...
