Very cool uncle rpm, short and sweet as usual ;)

one thing though, I thought uncle rpm automated the articles to post on myadsl, never knew you did it manually ;)
 
I installed IE7 and you have to enable redirect in its options for this site (myadsl) to work. It's all good and well to have a let's disable everything policy to beef up Windows's poor security but they should fixed the damn thing from the start so you don't have to worry about security holes and bugfixes you need to download.
 
You shouldn’t need to reboot your PC each time you install a new driver for a new scanner or printer.

LoL, but how much is it going to cost for a new set of windows?... I Mean I've got genuine copies now (home sp1) (Pro sp2) but if its gonna cost alot more then whats the point :p Plus ill prob need a new pc first..
 
Thankfully, there are some improvements under the bonnet, too. The most important change is dramatically beefed-up security. Windows XP is a security nightmare.

Well Vista is the new security nightmare. You cant just claim something is secure, especially before it's been released. I'm going to predict a flood of zero-day exploits.

Microsoft's web page says the suggested retail price for Vista Home Premium edition is $239.00 USD.
Vista Home Basic doesn't have the Aero interface and some multimedia capabilities and should cost about $199.00 USD.

So that's about R1800 for Vista Home Premium depending on which way the wind blows the exchange rate.
It's a ripoff in my opinion - can get a nice mid-range graphics card for that money.
Thank goodness Linux distros are free.

Interent Explorer 7 works perfectly for me, I use to use FireFox only, before I.E7 came out.

Vista Beta 1 was also good, wouldve kept it if all my drivers were working.
 
It's funny how no Vista articles mention winfx/.net3.0.

From a software development perspective vista is awesome.

I'm running Vista RC1 as my main OS at the moment and I'd say if you've got the cash to get it it's going to be well worth it.

It's clean, nifty, runs well and it's sooo pretty. And as you can see from the screenshot, I'm not running the most uber PC so it's not as resource intensive as Beta2 was.

I'm certainly looking forward to grabbing a copy when it comes out. This site (and all sites) have worked so far for me...

Credible alternatives to Microsoft's monopoly exist. MacOs X is years ahead of Vista in almost every aspect and most especially in terms of security. All the other gimmicks of Windows as yet unreleased system have been incorporated in MacOs X for at least 2 years. Based on Unix, it's complete stability is such that system crashes are almost unheard of. Unfortunately Macs have the undeserved reputation of being more expensive and incompatible with PC's. Untrue.Since the use of Intel processors Apple's line of computers are cheaper than the equivalent sold by Dell for example and further are able to run Windows (if you really absolutely have to). Of course Dell's products are driven by an inferior system - Windows - and needless to say are as ugly as can be. How is it possible that a better looking, stable, and much more user-frendly computer remains a niche product? Perhaps because most consumers are like sheep...

I.m going to wait until there are a few updates for Vista before purchasing...Vista is very good so far not to mention Office 2007...,but still needs to solve software compatibility issues

The Dell Dimension range is about 10% cheaper than a Mac with the equivalent specifications. For that extra 10% you get a vastly superior operating system and masterpiece in design which takes up no more space than the Dell monitor (the iMac is a computer and monitor in one). As for Dell unit it's so ugly that you would have to hide it out of sight. Put it another way, who wouldn't pay 10% more and rather than have a run-of- the-mill Toyota you get a Mercedes?
