The driving licence card printer has broken down again

I ordered my license in January and got it this week, so I don't know where it was printed.


The quality is so bad compared to my previous one that it looks fake. A colleague showed me theirs (also recent) at a meeting, and their photo is barely visible; it looks like a watermark.

Aside from the barcode, any half-decent print studio could fake this without a problem.
 
How complicated can a printer really be? Surely a techie from Konica etc can sort it out.

But if that also expires? Do they then expect us to just keep applying for temp until eventually they fix the printer and start with the backlog?

They can get stuffed. No way I'm bothering with that. They can supply me with a temporary license when I apply for mine and that can't have an expiry any earlier than my physical card's expiry would have.

I'm not coming back to cater to their failure.

If government can't provide a card they can get stuffed. Show receipt saying you applied and the government still can't provide one. There's no way it can ever be fair under these circumstances to expect citizens to pay fines for expired cards that are physically impossible to renew.

Neither have I, but you COULD run into issues if a cop gets otherwise... yes you'll likely get off scott free in the end of it, but there would be admin work to make it all go away.

I smell something, either BS or a rat. Did my license at a DLTC (Centurion, Gauteng) in January. Collected it 2 weeks after renewal.
Is Cape Town somehow being put on the bottom of the pile or is this alderman spouting BS ?

Nobody in Cape Town receive their cards, I do not believe it for a second. Probably trying to cause panic once again.
Ok Alderman the sky is falling, now what?

What’s the print quality like?
 
What is wild but not unexpected from our low IQ degenerate government is the fact that they are at some point going to get a new one.....yes just ONE.
