The Droid TV thread

The short on the NAND should allow you to load new fw. It's like completing a circuit for the box to take an update. I never owned a MXII - Some preffer OpenLEC to Android, less overhead and full hardware acceleration last time I checked. It's useful if you have 1 or two CPUs in the player, I wouldn't do it on any of my players ... okay maybe just 1 .... but would miss the applications too much

Hey what do you know, Ember installed successfully. Thanks for the help guys.

Also have an MX2. Found that XBMC/Kodi works a lot better on my Android phone. Win7 laptop. Linux Mint laptop and Windows 7 PC. How can I wipe the MX 2 and start afresh (with a slimmed down version of Linux?). Will the MX3 remote still work and can I then sync library and/or setting from a shared drive still to be hooked up to the Linux laptop or one of the windows systems?

Hi AlexFl,

Try Ember on your MX2

Which version of SW can I use on my MX III? Got one on Friday but I've never had one of these so I don't know which one works best. Any ideas?

AVSupply has some of the best, if not the BEST roms for the MXIII, MXII, MXQ and MG582. Some cool theming and much needed enchancements. Thought about it the night before ... I keep coming back to the AVSupply roms as they work best, look the best and provides stability.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll give it a bash. I'm loving my droid device right now, it can only get better

Hey AV. Hope you're well. Missed your response and had eventually managed to install OpenElec. Rather pleased with it (and myself, tech retard that I am). But quite keen to broaden horizons and will research difference between OpenElec and 'Ember'. May still make that move for trusty old MX2. Any input in this regard to ease research gladly received. Thanks in advance and cheers y'all.

Well done AlexFl :)

If you happy with the performance on Openelec, leave it on

Hi, please could someone post a link to the latest AVSupply custom rom for MG582. I made the fatal error of installing the manufacturer update which trashed all the nice toys that the good people at AVSupply provide in their rom
Thanks.

On MX2...
How do I edit the "Customized Mbox Launcher"?

I no longer have XBMC installed I replaced it with SMPC (Helix version) and want to remove the shortcut to XBMC.

It's hardcoded so won't be possible. Your best bet is to install a different application launcher
