The Droid TV thread

Indeed...but then you could grab a dongle, Iv got solid WiFi setup and its flawless.

"Orico 3-port USB 3.0 Hub With Gigabit Ethernet Adapter" makes the MIBox just the thing to have. Everything runs quite flawlessly and now all the WiFi remotes works like a charm!

I have read about the new MIBox coming out and there is nothing new in this box. I would, if I was you, still get the Version 3 box and add a "Orico 3-port USB 3.0 Hub With Gigabit Ethernet Adapter". Makes for quite a little beast!

The new MiBox 4 is just like the current Mi Box(Android TV), it runs a Modified version of Android 6.0. The Mi Box 4 replaces the Mi Box 3 in China.

The rest of the specs are Identical to this international Mi Box.

Give this man a bells! :)

Got my MI box!

1. Make sure you have 2 x AAA batteries for the remote.
You cannot navigate the box setup without it and the batteries are not included.

2. If you're connecting multiple USB devices get a hub. I got mini keyboard and it works out of the box.

Unpacking

Setup was simple enough.
I used my phone and everything(including netflix credentials etc) was copied automatically.

Installed VLC via voice search, and could play x265 effortlessly. Don't have a 4K screen or sample to test with.

For me, the Lit is better than the Mi box because of the built in Ethernet. I don't want an additional dongle for that.

I use Terrarium, Kodi and Plex, which all work flawlessly.
Not to mention only 1 USB. I still think the MXQ4 Pro (2gb/16gb) is still the best bang for buck.
Supports both DSTV Now and Netflix.

Supports both DSTV Now and Netflix.

But it’s the Netflix android version, not the android tv version. So the app thinks you are using a touch screen. This if you do not fork out more money for an airmouse or some such, navigation in the app becomes impossible

And you guys sure it works with dstv now? sorry to sound noobish
Yes it works. According to the Android TV operating system fan boys the Dstv Now app differs from the normal Android app , probably just optimized for TV. All the same to me as I use a Chromecast.

My firetv dstvnow stopped working a few weeks ago. Where can I download the latest APK that would work. Would the android TV one work on the fire? Or the normal android one?

Have your tried using the app after forcing stop, clearing cache, and or clearing data even for the app ?
