System update available for Mi Boxes under Settings and About. Almost 500mb

Yup, loaded it last night. See no difference. Bit of an overkill to use 500MB for a Youtube upgrade, but that is what you get if you bind an app into the system...

Yup. And hear some people are having install problems with some apps after the update. The install icon is dimm. The apperent way around this is to double tap the power button on the remote. Mobdro was one of the apps mentioned.

Is this just a buggy system update or are they trying to prohibit side loaded apps on the Android TV operating system in some or other way?

Hey guys,

I recently got a Mi Box and I was wondering how you guys have your sound set up?
I have a Samsung soundbar (J355) which is connected to my TV via the optical cable and then I have the HDMI from the Mi Box to my TV. With the setup I can only select PCM in the audio settings. What kind of cable could I use to connect the Mi Box directly to my sound bar?

Thanks in advance

Please keep us updated ... hopefully they dont give you the BS story they gave a friend, that he needs a minimum 2Mbps upload speed. LOL WTF :wtf:

So MultiChoice got back to me today and said that they escalated the matter and that their technical division agrees there is a problem and they trying to fix the stream issues. They would get back to me in the week to let me know of any progress... At least they acknowledge there is an issue.

Thanks, the problem doesn't only occur with streaming but also direct from the dish :( ... I hope they're aware of this.

Thats cheaper than importing one. Who has ordered from this supplier?
They are the official guys that have the rights to sell and market Xiaomi hardware in SA.

They are owned by core group who has the rights to sell and market Apple hardware in SA.

So if you want to order from them it's pretty safe.

You kidding me, how did Core get their repulsive hands onto Xiaomi, do they also handle the warranty work?

No, everything goes through MIA Africa SA, although they are owned by core group they function as a separate company , so Core only focuses on Apple and MIA Africa SA only focuses on Xiaomi

The update is buggy indeed and it appears they might have pushed the buggy update intentionally.

However , am glad that searching for the solution lead me to a nice APK.
