The Droid TV thread

I've also had trouble lately with Primewire 1Channel and Watchseries on XBMC...

Hi @avsupply, is it possible to Alt - tab on the MX3 remote, or possible to program that in? Thanks

Nope, just to be able to switch tasks within Android

OK, that is possible using an Android application. Unfortunately I can't remember the name, but it is mentioned somewhere in this thread

Sitting with some issues here:

I have an ATV400 Dual Core, 1GB ram etc.

I read that the device can play 1080p BUT only in software mode?
Having issues with buffering when playing large mkv's from network source, I can play the same media from laptop without any issues.
Is this down the device being Dual Core?

From what I have gathered I need at least a Quad Core player with latest Amlogic chipset to successfully play large BD rips and copies with hardware decoding and Audio hardware decoding (DTS etc) to avoid buffering issues etc.?

Before giving up, why not try the Linux XBMC firmware? Croniccorey's release also works on your box

Looks like a 2 part exercise

(1) Convert from Geniatech: http://goo.gl/Khw16K
(2) Update to Linux Gotham 13.2 firmware: http://goo.gl/VWDxyF

**You will lose all your Android apps so only do this if you want a standalone XBMC player

@Hemps, I agree, in Linux even a single core device can play 1080p with DTS HD master audio enabled. The player doesn't have any overhead from the Android OS.

@Artiens, wouldn't it be a good idea for everyone to update either their signatures with the Android media box they own with the firmware version installed? I find it easier to assist if if we are presented with the info first hand.

Hi all, didn't know about this thread. I'm also an Android TV box owner, however I can share and offer assistance regarding these boxes as I am on my 3rd box.

Welcome JvanD

It's always great to have knowledgeable and helpful people join this thread :D

@AVSupply, glad to be on board :-)

PS: Excellent pricing on the Android boxes that you are selling, you are adding value!

@Yotch - what would your signature look like? :D
From my POV, I just want to make people aware that there is a forum dedicated to media boxes.

@Arietans Take a bow, I think you have managed to accomplish this. The signature thing was just a thought, I like to help if I can.
Call it community service, lol :-p

No, I think it's a good idea too... just wondering what else to put on there...
F10 pro remote, Wamo bluetooth controller, 2x droid boxes, etc.
My biggest problem is that my availability comes and goes and there are times that I'm just not around to offer help. Not a bad idea though.

Maybe all things AV and droid related that could impact the experience ... Remotes, Game controllers, Amplifiers, TV ...

Like this?

Xtreamer Prodigy 3D FW 4.2.5
Geniatech ATV 1800E FW 4.4
Mygica ATV 510B FW Finless Custom rom
Minix X7 FW Wasser rom
TV: LG LA556210 3D
AV receiver: Samsung HW-E5500
Prodigy HDMI connected to receiver
ATV 1800 HDMI in to TV
Video: 1080P 60 HZ
D-Link N300 Wi-fi Router

Okay that might be lengthy ....
