The Droid TV thread

Maybe all things AV and droid related that could impact the experience ... Remotes, Game controllers, Amplifiers, TV ...

Like this?

Xtreamer Prodigy 3D FW 4.2.5
Geniatech ATV 1800E FW 4.4
Mygica ATV 510B FW Finless Custom rom
Minix X7 FW Wasser rom
TV: LG LA556210 3D
AV receiver: Samsung HW-E5500
Prodigy HDMI connected to receiver
ATV 1800 HDMI in to TV
Video: 1080P 60 HZ
D-Link N300 Wi-fi Router

Okay that might be lengthy ....

Some nice stuff there :)

I'm selling the TV soon ... Want a 4K one :-)
Go for a Samsung next time, my LG smart is not so smart as cannot load foreign firmware. The local firmware has ****e apps, so Hulu and Netflix not native. The Plex client is also pretty basic

The Samsung have active 3D so it will be LG next time as well, or Sony. They sell it that way to us, sucks I agree. Maybe a little too smart, but I don't wanna hex edit my TV or load international firmware just yet. Damn expensive mistake if I get it wrong.

Oh nice!
Glad to see someone shares my view on passive 3D.
I can't believe LG are the only ones doing it... and what have Sony done with that patent on 1 screen 2x pictures passive setup? Still haven't seen it implemented. That and a small bluetooth headset means you and the missus can both watch something different on the same screen. Or you could be playing a multiplayer game with someone on the same screen - each one sees their own picture. These things should be mainstream by now.

Passive 3D is imho way better on the eyes. I have owned a few 3D sets now and the quality and build is of the hook on the LG. Now for XBMC to support 3D BD ISO. Its already possible for Allwinner. No changes in Kodi or XBMC planned for awhile so we play the waiting game

I dunno, I watch 3d from my xbmc server using the upnp function of my lg smart TV. Have done it for a while now

My only issue with the MXIII after receiving my 5 units today is the remote. My dedicated play/pause and stop button are gone. Apart from that I am thoroughly impressed, and my 5 wives will:)

:D

If you want XBMC Multimedia Keys (Play/Pause, Stop, Info, PgUp/PgDown, etc.), they can be mapped to the remote's numeric keys using the Keymap editor (found in the "Apps" category)

Before giving up, why not try the Linux XBMC firmware? Croniccorey's release also works on your box

Looks like a 2 part exercise

(1) Convert from Geniatech: http://goo.gl/Khw16K
(2) Update to Linux Gotham 13.2 firmware: http://goo.gl/VWDxyF

**You will lose all your Android apps so only do this if you want a standalone XBMC player

So to update: Installed MX linux and then updated to Gotham 13.2 and no buffering from MyCloud anymore.
Its a a lot faster navigating XBMC as well, really impressed with these Droid devices.

Thanks AvSupply, most people would have tried to sell me a Quad Core one but you helped instead.

Great news! Glad I could help :)

Can you use your airmouse on the linux version?

Mine doesnt have that feature, think mine pretty old being Dual Core version.
So far on playing this morning, if I add shares via SMB/NFS i get stuttering, if I add via UpNp it plays fine.

Queenstown boy hey?

Is that just for side by side and over and under rips? I need it to work for 3D ISO

Lol yes queenstown :(

Linux based xbmc would be awesome on the box. Maybe i will test it out on the weekend.

Atm I am using finless 1.8 and xbmc 13.2

Funny I just tried a 3D 50GB iso last night- the movie played perfectly BUT in 2D?
Is this an XBMC setting cos it wasn't even blurry as it was supposed to be
