Anyone in Cape Town selling their MX2?

I have managed to kill mine. Need replacement urgently.

Never mind. What a mission. Unbricked my player. Had to start with original firmware 1.1.5 then 1.1.6 then 1.2 then Ember. Whole network now finally on Kodi 14.2 and synced to SQL Server again.

Nooooooo, finally SS is working, I have the money and AVSupply is out of stock.... I'm going to kill myself now.

EDIT: Of the Mg582 btw...
 
How many people have DSTV Now working on the MG582? Reason I ask is I've noticed people flagging the cloned device ID issue on the MyGica ATV582 (same as MG582) forum.
 
Can this device be used with locally stored content? Something like a personal cloud, I don't want anything bigger than a personal to stream from. Can I set up the cool kodi channels and stuff with posters etc?

If you have Android installed you need to use the Android to Ember version.

@dualmeister once i have downloaded this, do I just do the toothpick method and install this? Which version of Kodi do I use then as I always used the Android one?

Yes. The instructions are included in the download as well.

The Ember firmware includes Kodi 14.2 already. I am liking Ember so much that I even donated the $10 to Unlock the OTA updates feature so my FW will update itself in future.
 
Ok, I will give it a go tonight and see how it goes.

Is there no way to backup your addons and favorites and the just restore them?

I tried it with the toothpick method and it does not pick up anything on the SD card.

How do I get this installed? My MX2 runs android and I think that xbmc is mxlinux.

How do I check all of this?

Ok, so I got it installed, but now I have no audio, what is up with that?

So I got the sound back, I noticed it is the air mouse I was using with it. If I boot without the little dongle it does work and with it not. Why would that be? Also all the keys on it does not work.

It loads much faster and opens faster.

Your USB dongle is hijacking the sound output

Go to "Settings > System > Audio Output" and see if you are able to choose another output
