RetroPi - epic and easy to set up. Worked with my own Bluetooth controller out the box. You can config it to boot straight to Kodi, then on exit to the gaming interface.

Hi guys. The TV box RK3229 does it come preloaded with Everything? The last tv box I got didn't have Kodi but it tv addons powered by Kodi. Any advice, I'm looking on Bidorbuy. Thanks so much

Hey all, I'm very new to droid boxes. Always had things like mede8ers. Recently onedayonly had a deal on the Emtec Movie Cube. I grabbed one and have loved it. Blown away by the options (kodi, addons etc).

Looking to buy another droid box for bedroom now.

Should i go with same model (currently can only find it for sale at shopandship) or go for something like the Minix Neo U1 with extra air mouse? Is the Minix a decent one? It's got better specs than the Emtec, but there would be familiarity with another Emtec?

Thoughts/advice please?

I guess for starters, I could do a backup of my already perfectly setup kodi and restore fully on a new Emtec device. From what I've read Minix has its own version of Kodi (would a backup from another version work?)
The Emtec comes std with an air mouse, to which I'm now used to. There is a convenience factor to moving to another room in the house and the remote control is identical.

There are pros and cons, the above two things are pros for me, I'm simply asking advice from the more experienced box users as to the other pros I should consider. As you say, droid is droid, but then they'd make them all the same with the same specs, but they don't.

The Emtec for example has the following:

Buy the minix. and enjoy. I have one. No explanations needed. Its just a great box.
 
Howzit all!?

Had a look through the thread and found varying bits and pieces and thought it easier to just post and hopefully get a straight answer...

What is currently the Best/Cheapest option for a box to use for SS/DSTV Now (app and/or browser) and Kodi streaming (mainly Exodus)???

Just got my fibre and have about 1k to spend.
