An Android is an Android is an Android. How much familiarity do you really need?
I guess for starters, I could do a backup of my already perfectly setup kodi and restore fully on a new Emtec device. From what I've read Minix has its own version of Kodi (would a backup from another version work?)
The Emtec comes std with an air mouse, to which I'm now used to. There is a convenience factor to moving to another room in the house and the remote control is identical.
There are pros and cons, the above two things are pros for me, I'm simply asking advice from the more experienced box users as to the other pros I should consider. As you say, droid is droid, but then they'd make them all the same with the same specs, but they don't.
