The Droid TV thread

Glad I could help :)

It might not be a permanent fix though, as the PS4 always goes into auto mode when handshaking with a new TV, so you might need to repeat the process after using your Primary TV.
Thanks J, I'll keep that in mind!

The V6 is still the faster model with a better CPU(2x), GPU(3x) for high-end gaming and running Android + Linux, 1.6-1.8Ghz Quad Core A17 CPU.
The N8 is a budget model but with the latest hardware codec support like 10-bit h264, vc1, vp9 and MM firmware, recommended more for streaming and casual gaming, 1.5Ghz Quad-Core A7 CPU.

The NT-N8 with v1.2 firmware & V6 with v1.8a firmware run Showmax from 4 Dec correctly now.
The NT-N8 is still available on Amazon(with an airmouse), from UK sellers & Aliexpress(the listing just expired, but should be updated again in a day or so).

There is a new RK3399 chipset tv box that will be released early next year based on the same CPU, GPU and other hardware that this device has https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1771382379/firefly-rk3399-six-core-64-bit-high-performance-pl will be quite interesting.
Looking for two nagrace boxes. What would be the cheapest xmbcfan?

Need airmouses with them.

Just for basic streaming for the family.

Well, the included remote works perfectly fine, I just have trouble scrolling down on apps like YouTube, etc etc. I get that it is actually designed for a touch screen device. I should perhaps just play around a bit more. Or ask Google :p

Anyone got the Zip file or Repo for Travel Channel?

I downloaded a zip file and tried to install it and I'm getting "travel channel dependencies not met. Contact Author"

I messed up my MX3 Android box by trying to install Android 5.1 on it. Managed to fix it again with a working 4.4 firmware package, but now it keeps on freezing every now and again.

Anyone know when I can find the latest (or best) firmware package for this device?

The stock 4.4 firmware is probably the only one available, try a factory reset.
It looks like the device was already discontinued and abandoned 2 years ago.

Purely as a matter of interest, what were you hoping to gain by upgrading?
