Hello, Ive been posting on this forum since January and I'm still looking for a good laptop.
Id like to know if you think a 2GB dedicated graphics card will run the game good on a laptop

You really have to wait until the they release minimum/recommended specs. Right now no-one knows how it will perform, and what CPU/GPU requirements will be like, so anything is pure speculation.

The resolution is really low on the HP, so low that it looks wrong and more likely to be at least 1600x900, but I could be wrong. But, given that the resolution will be lower or the same as the Acer, and the 6770M is quite a bit faster than the gt 540m, that HP laptop should perform better in the graphics dept in general.

i doubt it will be to graphics heavy.it's being ported from console to PC so expect the same req as crysis 2

Those are only predictions but if you get something better than the predictions you might be ok but there's no gaurantees.

Oh please tell me you are kidding!? I'm so looking forward to this, but it breaks my heart when they port games from console, always feels ... dumbed down.

this game is going to be dumbed down to the max. so get ready. (not speculation- from the devs mouths ! )

Advice: get a laptop for work (no GPU card) and a gaming PC (works out cheaper).

Only get gaming laptop unless you really have too and than if money is no option read gaming laptop reviews: tomshardware and anandtech. But like I said to play games like Oblivion best to play on gaming PC / console (console wont support mods made by fans though). You will always find the laptop lacking and this is from personal experience.

i have a lappy from 2006 that plays oblivion on max settings 1920x1200 WITH AA and high res texture pack... and didn't break the bank getting it. (mobileGeforce 7900GTX)

With these cold winters - its a lot more comfy lying under a blanket or in front of a fireplace with a lappy than sitting at a desk grinding away at your favourite rpg

How bout sitting on a comfy couch with a comfy blanket/duvet with Big TV screen and surround sound in a proper sized room? I do this for both Console and PC gaming.

Oh get over it. It'll be awesome, port or no.
If it bothers you so much either:
A) buy a console and enjoy
B) don't buy it.

thinking a 5870m or gtx 460m/560m should play it fine.

not sure on maxed full hd settings.

you want to try go for asus ROG laptop g73/53.( wanititall have a g73 for 11k)

or dell with gt555m is tad weaker but should work.

Can we have some specifics about the PC version of the game? How will its UI be different? Will there be a 64-bit executable?

Todd: 64-bit specific exe? Not at this time. As far as UI, it visually looks the same across the platforms, but the controls are entirely different. There’s also a lot of “power user” stuff we do with the keyboard from how favorites work, to quick saves, and more that is similar to what we’ve done before in that area. We’re packing a lot of info on the screen and the whole interface is much less ‘look at giant fonts!’ than, say, Oblivion. The PC version also gets higher res textures, larger render modes, and a bunch of other effects you can scale up if your machine is a beast. Last but most important, is the Creation Kit we’ll be releasing for the PC. Modding the game and making it your own is very important to us and our fans, so we’re going to keep doing whatever we can in that area.

So it isn't mearly some console port like so many other games out there. And secondly they aren't dumbing it down to the point that a monkey could play. From what I have read and seen so far it still has a bunch of skills, it still has starsigns and attributes, it still has soulgems (altough in the link I provided there seems to be a new way to use them) and now you can also craft and improve weapons, not just enchant them. There are also many other features that add to the game and make it more complex. So it isn't dumbed down, tweaked yes, not dumbed down.

As for the original question posted by the op, I seem to be unable to find anything official out there. It will most probably depend on how you want to run the game, personally for this game I would want all the eye-bleeding eyecandy that it can throw at me. That said rather wait for the Bethesda to release the minimum specs and judge from there than buy something now that can't play the game.

Its more to do with a fear of "dumbing down for mass market" than platform preference. When people describe a sequel or entry in a franchise as "consolized" I assume they mean a lot of depth and customization was removed as depth/complexity/customization create a pretty big barrier of entry and learning curve for less experienced gamers. There are elegant ways to do this streamlining, "consolized" generally being more on the catastrophic Dragon Age II end of the scale.
