We were at the station at 6:25, voting only started at 7:25 when they had finally set up everything and the ballot boxes only arrived around 7:20. We were done by 7:40, by the line had increased about 10 fold by then.

Got to Ellerton/Sea Point just before 07h00. Relatively short queue, out by 07h40.

I'm conflicted because on one hand I don't like many of the DA policies, but they are the largest opposition, and I don't want to waste my vote.. On the other hand I like COPE's policies but they seems to have fizzled out. On the third hand I like Mr Holomisa.

Which of the DA policies don't you like and which COPE ones do you like?

I am personally quite shocked at just how many people in South Africa have shown me the finger this morning.

COPE:

ensure that popularly elected representatives can
be removed from offi ce by the people, but only
through clearly defined and nationally agreed
constitutional procedures

facilitate, support, safeguard and reward citizen
activism and investigative journalism to increase
accountability

implement sound environmental practices, with an
emphasis on sustainable development, recycling,
environmental sustainability

I went to my voting station, I literally just walked in there, voted, and then walked out. It took me longer to drive to the voting station (which is two roads away from me) than to vote.

Will go back at 6pm tonight as a party agent to make sure no cheating happens in the counting.

So basically the same as the DA policies.

Don't come here with those DA tendencies

Its so funny, in Bisho (provincial parliament) the COPE offices are next to the DA offices. Many of the people that were in the COPE offices last year will be in the DA offices this year.

DA policies are straight forward practical and well thought out. You will be hard pressed to actually find an issue with a policy document. However, if you really dont like the DA for personal reasons the next best party to vote for would be UDM (in my opinion). The majority of COPE people have bailed from COPE to join the DA, EFF or the ANC. I dont feel your vote would be productive if you voted COPE this voting cycle....

At the end of the day its your vote. Vote smart :)
