ELECTIONS FOR EXPATS UNDERWAY: IEC
South Africans living abroad have begun casting their votes, the Electoral Commission of SA (IEC) said on Wednesday.
"It began last night [Tuesday] in Amsterdam and New Zealand," said spokeswoman Kate Bapela.
"Today, it is continuing in all parts of the world."
Voting was running smoothly.
"So far so good. We have not received any contradictory reports so things are going well."
Voting stations opened at different times in different parts of the world, she said.
More than 26,400 people had successfully applied to cast their ballots abroad. London had the highest number of expatriate voters at 9863, followed by Dubai with 1539 registered voters.
General elections in South Africa will take place next Wednesday.

Probably wasn't that long, was probably just inefficiencies that were designed to frustrate voters into not pitching.

ALEXANDRA RESIDENTS WELCOME ZILLE
DA leader Helen Zille was welcomed by a group of supporters as she hit the campaign trail in Alexandra, Johannesburg, on Wednesday.
Democratic Alliance supporters wearing party T-shirts welcomed the delegation which was escorted by several police vehicles.
They sang in Zulu: "Thuli, ask them how did they build Nkandla" (Thuli khawubabuze bayakhe kanjani iNkandla).
A double-decker bus arrived soon afterwards carrying more supporters.
DA Gauteng premier candidate Mmusi Maimane told supporters it was unfair that President Jacob Zuma's cattle lived better than Alexandra residents did in their hostels.
Zuma is under fire over a report by Public Protector Thuli Madonsela that he unduly benefited from an over R200 million upgrade to his home in Nkandla, KwaZulu-Natal.

So voting is next week and I realise I still don't have a party to vote for? Or rather still undecided. I was going to vote Agang, but their showed me that'd be a bad choice.

I am also in a quandary... but right now I realise that I may just have to vote AGAINST certain parties rather than vote FOR certain parties.
There is no party that represents me 100%.... but I can still use my vote to weaken the corrupt and dominant incumbent.

ZILLE VISITS ALEX
DA leader Helen Zille sang and danced to a Xhosa song before hundreds of supporters in Alexandra in Johannesburg on Wednesday.
She chose a song by popular South African musician Zahara titled "Xabendino Mama" and a song by Brenda Fassie along with supporters before addressing them.
Zille said the Democratic Alliance wanted to rid the country of corruption.
"This is the kind of corruption that does not attract investors."
A lack of investors was causing a lack of jobs in the country.
Zille said there were no jobs in Gauteng but there would be if residents voted for the DA.
A man was welcomed into the party in full view of supporters and passers-by and given a DA T-shirt.
Two women whispered they also wanted DA T-shirts but would vote for the party once they had seen the changes Zille was promising.
Supporters chanted and sang praises to DA Gauteng premier candidate Mmusi Maimane and Zille. They also sang in Zulu that one day the word "corruption" would be destroyed.
Some supporters sold DA branded clothing.
