The Electronic Music Thread

I'm afraid that's always been the case in every age. It's just your old age memory that filters out the garbage from the past

I would disagree a bit. If you wind the clock back your music abilities at least had to enable you to afford decent studio equipment and stuff. Having every second kid put "a sick beat" together on fl studio saturated the market pretty badly.

On the other hand, having access to a virtually infinite selection of music today allows musicians to find an audience while staying faithful to their vision, which in the past, was not always possible because of the costs of studio equipment and so on. I suspect for people who are avid listeners of music, it's far easier to find music they enjoy today than it ever was in the past.

This. If you're actively listening to music its easier than ever to find stuff you like. The amount of people churning out FL loops is almost perfectly offset & balanced by easy access to the kind of stuff you're after. And most people churning out crap aren't getting signed to half decent record labels and putting their stuff on spotifiy. There's still a layer of curation and filtering that happens.
