After lots of research and getting back into ear buds due to shifting away from desktop PC (my trusty ±7 year old Razer M100 Protones AKA rebranded Sennheiser CX300s), I just ordered these Sennie IE 80 IEMs, so very excited! http://en-us.sennheiser.com/earphones-high-end-hifi-stereo-passive-noise-reduction-ie-80

My Xonar Essence STX and Sennie HD 650s have been collecting dust for over a year. I cannot bring myself to selling them though.

I see I've got lots to go through once they arrive.

R5k for headphones - must be good stuff.

They go for about R3000.

I still don't understand why you'd spend that much on in-ear buds.
Even with a laptop I'd gladly use open backed over ear headphones.
They have a larger sound stage and are 10x more comfortable.
If you're buying at that price then you are concerned about audio fidelity which makes me wonder why in-ear compared to over ear headphones.
