The electronic waste war

mmm finding a use for blown monitor a broken motherboard etc. recycling sounds good.

Collecting PC related products from p1 upwards i am just startting to set up a collection system in Paarl (WP) whereby sofar all had one thing in common : ***kerlakken !

Other than that , one can find in the no / low income a wide variety of "leftovers" andthe

few pc's i have re assmebled attract massive interests of kids, where it all started for and

that shows that with basic , older technolgy such as p1/2/3 still lots of things can be done

and it is a pity that neo colonial mindsets wants to impose the OLPC (One Laptop Per Child)

on developing countries as it amongst other hinders re use of older pc's.

There is a massive pile of things lying around with people (look at yourself) which is no more

used for whatever reason, getting it back to work would enable massive number of people

to get in touch with todays reality of life which is the PC covering more and more all parts

of livingroom issues. a state of the art pc would ofcourse be the ultimate but one has to work with what is available
