The Russians claim they can take out GPS satellites -

I have a suspicion that the Yanks don't just rely on GPS satellites and have their own sneaky network that is kept very quiet.

There is nothing as dangerous as a lieutenant with a map if you follow Murphys rules of combat

China and/or Russia are going to be disappointed.

The stealth fighter that crashed during an attempted take-off from HMS Queen Elizabeth last month was recovered after a multinational operation involving US and Italian forces.

A spokesman for the MoD said the wreckage had broken into multiple pieces and was found in “significant large parts”.

All sensitive equipment and aircraft parts had been secured, the spokesman confirmed.

The loss of the stealth jet in the Mediterranean Sea prompted a desperate three-week search to ensure sensitive technology didn’t fall into Russian hands.

An MoD spokesman said: “Operations to recover the UK F-35 in the Mediterranean Sea have successfully concluded.

An unexpected country considering the F-35, Thailand is saying they want 8-12 F-35's.

Interesting to see they are now cheaper than the Gripen according to them.

The Royal Thai Air Force is eyeing the procurement of eight US-made F-35 stealth jets, the world's most advanced warplane, to strengthen national defence, said its commander-in-chief ACM Napadej Dhupatemiya.

ACM Napadej said the air force needs a new fleet of fighter jets as the ageing F-5 and F-16 aircraft have been in service for more than three decades.

The F-35 jets, manufactured by US defence giant Lockheed Martin, have emerged as the best choice now that costs are lower, down to US$82 million (2.7 billion baht) each from $142 million when the model first hit the market, he said.

With the new Swedish-made Saab Gripen priced at $85 million per unit, Lockheed Martin's product is not out of reach, ACM Napadej said. Depending on negotiations, unit prices of the F-35 can be brought down to just above $70 million each, he said.

There is apparently a new version F-35 in development for a unknown international client.

I highly doubt they will get them though. The military junta government is constantly cozying up to the Chinese. It's almost certain that the systems would be hacked or reversed engineered from there.

let me guess the S/Koreans didn't modify their F35's like the Israelis did,
and something broke that they didnt get the Service manuals to.

It's a weird one this, there are over 750 now flying with 470,000 hours between them and one jet suddenly has a catastrophic failure of not just its landing gear but its emergency landing system as well?

I wonder if this isn't going to be like the Japanese and UK accidents and have a dash of human error included?
