The FA Cup 2009

BBC commentator on the Penalty:

1710: GOAL Southampton 0-2 Man Utd
Mike Riley, run away, run away now. That's a shocking decision. United win a free-kick and Nani's effort comes off the back of David McGoldrick's head. Penalty says Riley - which Nani tucks away.

I totally agree it was an incorrect decision, however it is understandable when a defender lifts his arms and the ball ricochets from what in real time, looked like his forearm, but turned out to be his head. The defender is just as much to blame. And I'd say that if it were any other team playing as well. Defender should know better than to lift their arms above their heads when in the wall...

lol love the manu excuses, now its the defenders fault, for allowing manu to get another dodgy decision in their favour...

I want to hear what Bailey is going to say about that 'Penalty'. Reilly is a joke.Simple as.

There is no "debate" it wasnt a penalty as simple as that, to blame the defender is stupid. Its the refs fault for giving manchester another dodgy decision.

And I have already stated it was an incorrect decision - however had the defender not lifted his arms over his head when jumping, the penalty would never have been given. It is a schoolboy error on the part of the defender. Having played football for my province, I know that coaches train their players not to do so from a young age. For that very reason. Simple as that...

Majority of us have played football on all levels, so playing for your "province" adds nothing to your argument lol.

All I see is more excuses from a manchester fan not accepting that the ref made a dodgy decision in favour of manchester (which everytime it happens we get excuses from manu fans why it really is a correct descion/not their fault) and nobody else except him is to be blamed.

Barca got goal from a bad decision last night but you dont see barca fans saying the defnder should have done this/or should have been here etc.

Red card was as clear as day.
Penalty was harsh but you can't put your arms up like that and not expect a penalty shout at least.

Even long before the red, Soton were never in it.

The next tie will be good.If it ends up being a replay at spurs I'll go watch it.

A home tie against Tottenham awaits Manchester United in the fourth round. Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has won twice at Old Trafford in the FA Cup, and was also manager of Bournemouth when the Cherries stunned United in the third round in 1984.

Clearest? The guy got the ball and even the most biased commentator on Supersport said that you could see that it wasn't intentional.

This referee is pathetic. Gave a penalty for no reason now. I think Mike Reilly can give Rob Stiles a run for his money when it comes to the FA's worst referees.

It wasn't intentional? What on earth are you on about? Stud up, flying in, knee height. The type of thing that breaks players legs. Clear red card. No doubt.

So....
Spurs v Untited and Liverpool v Everton looks like the best ties of the 4th round:)

Wow! Vilinueva just scored a brilliant free kick for Rovers!
Really enjoying this match against Blyth Spartans.lol

They have a Barman playing upfront.:D:D

I can't stand the crap camera angles at these smaller stadiums - makes it difficult to watch...

Yip - Blackburn were lucky not to give away at least 2 goals in the final minutes there...
