LaFerrari test mule spotted out and about, but what exactly is it?
We needn’t point out just how infrequently one might spot a Ferrari test mule, especially the one that looks like a LaFerrari, however, when said test mule comes out to play, we sit up, pay attention and of course, get down to some serious speculating.
Supercar spotter Varryx has recently spotted what looks like the tattiest LaFerrari one will ever see, however, with the Daytona SP3 having been unveiled in November 2021, just a month after the last LaFerrari bodied test mule was spotted, the question remains – what’s that? (Pointing at the tatty ‘LaF’).
The rumour mill suggests that this may be Ferrari’s next generation hypercar, but there’s a good chance that it could also be the next offering in the Icona Series. With the Daytona SP3 being the latest vehicle in the Icona series, but the mule still doing its rounds, a few questions are to be raised.
In the video we can see that the bonnet is uneven and misaligned, the passenger side of the vehicle is covered in tape and the upper section of the rear fascia is not straight at all. A centre-exit exhaust looks to be sitting behind a bit of a heat shield thing, which is also curious, because quad exhaust tips are also present, albeit without heat shielding and pointing upwards and inward, hmmm.
