Another thing to do is to actually block your numberplate with something. Just slightly, enough so that a photo would not be conclusive proof of it being your vehicle. But not enough that it would be blatantly obvious except from a 45 degree elevation.
If you are pulled over by Metro for this, they can only fine you for R500, instead of R1000 by Sanral for not paying a bill. Considering how often you get pulled over for minor issues like this by the metro, you will hardly get any fines. Then considering how often Metro traffic fines actually get followed through to collection, especially with the Metro doing a go slow at the moment and for the foreseeable future.
This could be one way of loopholing past the cameras, while also loopholing the inefficiency of the Traffic department.
