Just had a look at my wife's and my own number plate. BOTH shows up as owing R5.42 but my car hasn't has been on the highway and the SO hasn't been through one gantry since launching. I haven't even driven my bakkie for the last month

congrats! then you are one of the at least 10% duplicate plate holders ;-)

nope again..... they've fiddled it, that you are paying tax on top of the road costs as well - I would say, that's supreme rimming in the rear....

Makes me want to boil over.

Where are the hackers and the crusaders. I'll donate money to cause chaos.

I wonder hey. One is a KZN number plate which would be pretty stupid thing to duplicate up here. How do we request photos....?

you sure your wife has nothing going on the side? ;-)

Just make a note of the vehicles travels and wait for your account - I have a feeling they will soon block the checking of vehicles balances for unregistered folk...

Which is extorting people to register in order to keep an eye out for fraud

A mate of mine:

HKGK.

Your mate should open a case of fraud against SANRAL, Nazi Alli and Vusi Moaner, the minister of transport, king Zumatello, the Gauteng transport MEC, and anyone else that might vaguely sound applicable.

Yeah will wait and see what they send our way.

1. Can I give the tag back within the CPA time and say I'm not interested any more

2. They don't give you the terms and conditions to read, they tell you to go read it after you signed. Wtf?

( no I have not bought one but I know someone who did:()

No, you can just cancel your contract with the bastards

People here has said that you can't.

they should read more....

Section H: Ending the Agreement
1. You may end this Agreement at any time
You may end this Agreement at any time by contacting us using one of the contact
methods set out in ‘1. Ways you can contact us’ of this section, ‘Section G: Queries,
disputes and contacting each other’. This is called ‘giving notice to end the
Agreement’. In this notice, you must tell us the date that you want this Agreement to
end. The date you choose must not be a date in the past. The Agreement will end at
23h 59m on the day that you choose.
When the Agreement ends, you will no longer be registered with us and you will be
categorised as an alternate user if you use the GFIP-toll roads. It is important to note
that, even after this Agreement ends, you might still qualify for the lower VLN tariff for
the GFIP-toll roads if you pay for e-toll transactions within the grace period.

Thank you Bundu. :)

I read all the updates in the previous thread, I just not read any of the official SANRAL stuff. I honestly believed that good would stop them. :o

Now we have to turn to civil disobedience.

this fight can't be won if 'they' dictate the rules

OK. All jokes aside.
We all know what they plan to do. Hit the initial 'offenders' hard and fast to get the rest to toe the line. We can hope that the general apathy South Africans have cultivated work in our favor here. But what can we actually, as a group, do to make this harder for them?

Well, the least we can do is spread information and counter SANRAL's lies and propaganda. Every time I talk to someone new about this they're scared about being blacklisted for not paying, or being arrested, for example. I wouldn't be surprised if the people flocking into SANRAL stores are ones who fell for the fear mongering and threats.
