Just remember if you get caught you go to jail, thats defeating the ends of justice.

Exactly what I was thinking. If a cop sees you using this flipper you are in for a world of hurt as you cannot exactly hide it, and you cannot outrun them on a rush-hour highway :(

However I do agree with the sentiment, perhaps a few splatters of mud will do the trick?

What if they do a legal roadworthy check at a roadblock? How obvious is the device?

In all my yrs on a bike ive never had them do more than a glance to see if i had a plate on. Its pretty slim and im sure i can hide the wires well enough. The power module goes under the seat, so all they see is a bracket with wires in it, which can be explained to be the tail light and indicator wires

It seems that the eToll booth at the Grove shopping centre (Pretoria) is down. According to them, it is been down from yesterday. Anyone know if any other of the eToll booths' systems are down?

I'm still looking for a proper quote on this. My reading of THEIR laws still suggest otherwise.

You only have to pay within 30 days from when they send you there invoice. But then it is at the alternative rate - 60%. Just saw a letter now that was addressed on the 4th. And they only have to pay before the 4th of Feb. And that is for the cost incurred from December.

Yay my plate flipper just arrived. F U SANRAL and JMPD for that matter

please man. For your own (and family's) sake, don't do it. Fighting legal (etolls are legal however unjust they are) with illegal means is not right. Why not continue NOT to pay and see what happens.

But not paying is illegal, too.

Seen this? http://www.news24.com/MyNews24/E-toll-accounts-automatically-inflated-by-two-hundred-percent-20140107

If you haven't paid in seven days, and you are handed over to the VPC, your outstanding balance is automatically multiplied by two hundred percent.

The gall, I tell you!

You don't pay the standard tariff if they send you the invoice. The standard tariff only applies if you pay before 7 days. But it is not multiplied by 200% it is a 50% increase or so from the standard tariff.

No, it is a roughly 200% increase, but you can get discounts on that if you pay within 60 days of invoice date. Look up the "Alternate user" tariffs in the Gazette.

I was speaking about the within 30 days of invoice date.

Brooklyn's was down on Friday.
