A windmill is more expensive than a solar pump and the hassles with maintenance is much more than a solar pump.
That is only because the new generation of farmers are pathetic at maintenance!
But once a windmill has run dry because the gearbox oil/grease has leaked out, there is only one way out now and that is solar replacement

A small bit of rain here in Alberton this morning, enough to freshen the air and wet the ground at least.

Wow it just rained for like 10 seconds. I counted. It's over now. Still loud thunder though

@Venomous and the rest :

Thanks :)

No to find a way of stopping lil miss survival dog.

I got given a jerusalem artichoke. It was planted for 5 days before lil miss survivor dug it up. It was going to have about 20 babies, now it will have none. The lil bitch keeled it by eating the bulb and leaving the stalk on the grass for me to find

She's always hungy!

And while her ribs no longer protrude she stays super thin no matter how much food she is given!

She gained more than 6kgs in just over 2 months...
Dewormed the doggo?

Maybe you gots a lion instead?:laugh::X3:

She's ALMOST 8 months(teeth tips are through gums but must finish cutting)
Was dewormed the day we got her, will do again soon as I do take them to a horse farm for a mix of fun and training. She's growing and growing and growing.... She weighed 27.3 kgs about 2 weeks ago.

When we got her she wighed almost 21 and I could fit my fingers between her ribs in the hollows. She's a mixed breed.

There is boerboel, some pittie (things she does) and we suspect some great dane! Her feet are the same size as big boy(45kg) and he's just over 2.5years...

I've (machine) washed the bedding and towels. They are hanging outside as my part of the rain dance.

/hopes for more rain :)

I wholeheartedly agree with you about the neglect of a windmill. My reply was based on the assumption that the poster referred to a new installation of a windmill, as the price of a new windmill would never justify to go that route and it would be cheaper to go on using Eskom power to pump a borehole or get a solar installation.

Bis storm brewing and incoming from the south. I'm in Braamfontein at the moment, and it's heading this way at a rate.
