Chances are improving for some rain tonight! Storms are now showing up on the Irene Radar, and Ottosdal is still showing strong returns with both stations showing storms moving towards Joburg and Pretoria

I'd say they're likely to hit us around Midnight, again, if they don't dissipate first

Oooooh should be interesting

16mm for last night, and it was still going when I left home this morning. Yay!

Some inflow into the Vaal dam this morning. Good news. Hopefully just the forerunner for a decent level boost from the current weather system.

Vaal 44%, Sterkfontein 91%
/inflows
Vaal 49%, Sterkfontein 86%

Now, I'm not a math wizz but obvious source seems obvious. Does it perhaps mean they anticipate inflows into the dams higher up in the system though?

They haven't opened sterkfontein if that's what you're asking?

Coincidence then.
I think your numbers are wrong.

Vaal is still at 44 percent.

Wed 13 Nov. Vaal Dam Level 16.82m. Full 44.36%. Inflow 2.49m3/s. Discharge 17.6m3/s. River Valves Open 2x100%. Gates Open 0.

I looked at this: http://www.randwater.co.za/CorporateResponsibility/WWE/Pages/Damlevel.aspx

11 November numbers in blue but then those red numbers bottom left which I assume is real time?

it's a crappy site and who knows how accurate it is.
