I want to create a list of all the good things that have happened in SA 2010 that benefit everyone in SA (or just me), something to look at during dark days and help keep perspective.

No 1: Deficit is down!

Anything else to date?

PS: I realise that some could argue this isn't good for everyone, but less debt will be looked at as someone is watching our expenditures.
PPS: No BEE deal can be placed on the list until someone can explain how it benefit's me.
PPPS: Not sure if the world cup should be placed on the list as costs have been rather high and we still have people without clean water?

Mrs Zille. You might just convice me the Cape and it's wind is not such a bad place:D

"The current national ministerial handbook facilitates and legalises a form of power abuse," she said.

"When it is pointed out to national ministers that spending R1.2m of public money on a ministerial car is excessive, they refer to the ministerial handbook which allows them to spend the equivalent of 70% of their salary on a car.

"In the Western Cape, no provincial minister will be able to use this excuse."
