But it will have a sleek design and beautiful interface. That's important to some people, it's what made the iPod better than any other run-of-the-mill Mp3 player.

Must be the reason why people love the iPhone, iPod and various Mac computers.

If Apple can bring out a high resolution 1280 by 1024 (at least) display with transreflective screen, a CPU capable of full HD playback (in h264 and MKV capable) with internet connectivity and OSX (plus decent storage) - I might go and buy one.

Yep. The iPod/iPhone is great but the screen resolution is poor (compared to Sharp which does 1024 by 480, and Cowon which does 800 by 480) and the playback is limited - H.264 only in SIMPLE PROFILE - no Advanced Profile and other optimisations, no Matroska playback (fansubs!!!). That's why I dumped my 3rd Gen iPod for a Creative Zen Vision (640x480) and then Cowon A3 (800 by 480, MKV support, more H.264 support plus DivX/XviD playback with subtitles). I love Apple but I prefer my fansubs .
