The man accused of killing Happy Sindane will be back in the KwaMhlanga Magistrate's Court on Friday.

Last month, Khuano Simon Mthimunye, 58, was granted bail of R10,000. Sindane's body was found in Tweefontein, near KwaMhlanga, on April 1.

Police said he appeared to have been stoned to death.

The Star reported that shortly before Sindane was killed, he fought with another man over a bottle of brandy at a Tweefontein tavern.

Sindane, 29, made headlines in 2003 when he claimed he was a white boy who had been kidnapped by black people.

After a four-month inquiry to establish his identity, the Bronkhorstspruit Children's Court found in September 2003 that Sindane's real name was Abbey Mzayiya, and that he was the son of a black domestic worker, Rina Mzayiya.

The court found that his father was probably a white man, Henry Nick, who employed Mzayiya in 1984, the year Sindane was born.

The whereabouts of his parents were not known.
