OK, yeah this is a bit gay or whatever but let's discuss all home decor related stuff in here.

Firstly, where do you guys buy your furniture from? I'm talking decent quality furniture here, not garage sale crud. Also, things like cupboards, desks, curtains and carpets, where do you prefer to buy yours from?

Pics welcome..

I bargain shop! There is no chance I am going to spend a small fortune on furniture when we have a nine year old in the house and another little one on the way.

And if the truth be known we still get comments about how good our place looks and I happily share the fact that it was done for very little.

Congrats on the little one coming :D

Feo, I'd say to plain about it. Furniture is furniture. Most places sell decent furniture these days, so just buy what you like ;)

I love your idea for a thread on decor, feo!

For not so expensive furniture, you can also try Wetherleys or Osiers.

If money is no object, Bakos Brothers have stunning things.

bakos brothers is nothing more than a rip off

wow my dad used to do work for decor elegance who used to do the curtaining and upholstering for bakos, i went in their one day to fix a computer and was shocked at the pricing

i feel even if money is no object you should not throw it away like that

I hate Bakos! Damn expensive crap!
Have a Bakos bed, lounge suite and dining table and other stuffs...
I dont recommend people buy it, even if you have the money.

Mr Feo, theres loads of stores out there, im trying to do the same at home lol.
Stores to visit.

Sevens in Fourways, next to Sevens theres another store, into the Blue or something, Wetherleys/Osiers is good but not nice stuff, Weylandts sale should be out soon, nice for bargains. Red Apple in Sandton just off Grayston/Wynberg hot chick from Marlboro works there.

Then there Design Quarters ion Fourways, you one stop Home Decor shopping mallll! Even the Mr Price homestore there have some good stuff!

So let me understand you correctly - you bought a bed from Bakos ... then you bought a lounge suite ... then you bought a dining table ... then you bought some other stuff .... and only then you decided it is not worth it?

A bit slow on the uptake, are we? :D

Last week I bought a mirror, office chair, chest of drawers, buffet cupboard and bedside cupboard from Tafelberg.

Nice stuff and prices, but when they delivered the stuff they didn't supply bolts to attach the mirror to the wall, the chest of drawers had a skew bottom drawer and a missing drawer knob, and they brought the wrong chair.

So always check your stuff, before the delivery guys leave.
Fortunately I did, and they brought replacements the next day.
