So I just checked on the job card, this is what they used: https://www.agrimark.co.za/product/makhro-cyper-insecticide-l7750-1l

200ml of this, with 200L of water. They of coarse had a proper rig for spraying, tank, compressor etc.

Sure, but if you have a super-colony deep underground, you want some proper pressure to get the poison into the nest.

Try it out, you might just have to apply it more frequently.

Try to find the little "cooling-towers" that they create, and then spray directly into them. Maybe you can even expose the entrances a bit and just pour a highly concentrated mixture inside.

Will definitely keep this in mind.
Only had to use my sprayer for weed control

Oh, and forgot to mention. It is 100% safe for plants, so you can spray it everywhere, no need to worry about your grass/trees/flowers

I hope those numbers include installation and finishing because Balau decking boards are only about R1,000/m².

Shoo R100k for a stoep...wow! Another option would be to lay a concrete foundation and tile it...this should be more cost effective.

The area is approx 60sqm for now, and I am in CT southwen suburb region. Will give those guys a call. Staying on the topic of wood and composites. What would material out of the two would be best for an internal floating staircase, steel beam in the middle of it? Pine is cheap, and you can stain it, but it's not that appealing..any thoughts from those who have gone through this exercise?

If you're not balling at those prices what about sleeper wood (Jarrah / Eucalyptus) for the decking much cheaper? Northern suburbs.

Do you need a new staircase or is the steal beam already there or what do you want, you need a hardwood in heavy traffic areas. Also the pine that you see in Builders etc is grade C, good pine with minimal knots also has appeal. If you want something without knots go for river gum wood.

Its new stairs that are to be built. Received a quote but with Pine. Hence, the inquiry on options is available. Cost comparison is required for the different wood inserts you have mentioned.

How much is the quote? how many risers?

Do you have an exceptional high first floor? Mine is high and I have 13. "Treads" will be one less than the risers.

Yes, it may change. It's a case of accurate measurements being taken when the structure is finalised.

You should ideally take measurements before you start building. :) There are online stair calculators that work everything out for you. I have lots of different wood. Send a picture of what you want, balustrades, finish etc.
