Ja, flat roof is just a pain but it was such a fad at the time when so many houses in my area were built it's hard to find ones that don't have flat roofs.
Any time there hard wind driven rain you just cross your fingers and hope things don't get completely soaked.
The guys I got to redo my roof were very upfront about this, and the owner straight up told me there isn't really anything he can do to address certain problem areas without restructuring the roof.
I hopefully don't intend to move anytime soon though, if I'm here long enough I may end up just redoing the roof and making it a pitched roof. I just had all the IBR replaced last year so that's not going to happen any time soon.
I actually got a quote for putting on a proper pitched roof, if I recall - it was about 800k 12-14 years ago.
