I was about to tell you to pull back your meter long foreskin but then read on.

the pressure should be fine, is the water rushing over or is it pooling up and not draining fast enough allowing it to then rush over?

No, where does the water come from? Is there not a silver pipe with a valve underneath or hidden in the back of the urinal? If you find it close it a bit and see how it behaves after.

My SO told me not a chance when I asked. We need to build an outside toilet along with the new entertainment area and I’m going to insist.

This is the second urinal we are putting in.
It doesnt stink, cause you flush it, or cause a mess.
I have mostly females in the house, they don't need to sit on pissed on toilet seats from guests that do not clean after themselves.
Plust it's just easier, like peeing in the yard.

Save a lot of water as well, pays for itself.

A friend put mine put one in a corner of his workshop, I think it's a very clever idea.

One thing though, never wrap your pipe in cloth.. yes, the intention is to keep sand out, but the cloth gets clogged and water can never drain into the pipe.. instead, on the end of the pipe that is not draining the water away, you add a bend to bring the pipe just above ground level and add a lid(should also have a few holes in the lid to allow water to drain better) and you use this to clean out the pipe every once in a while..

Guys, great feedback here. For a french drain with 6m perforated pipe, how much stone do you think would be needed around it, 5 x 50kg bags?

Math would be your friend here.. calculate the volume of your trench, minus the volume of your pipe and you get the volume of stone required.. the bags are typically sold by volume..

Crusher stone is approx 1600kg per cube i think

Assume the pipe is 110mm
If using a 1 m biddum with 100mm overlap you would probably need approx 66kg per meter

And with a 200mm overlap about 49kg per meter

The bigger the crusher stones the better all about the space in between

How i got to it
width of biddum -ovelap / by 4 to get a side

Multiply by itself to get volume

Subtract pipe volume

Everything is rounded just for a ball park figure

Taking a shot in the dark here without knowing what the actual plumbing looks like.

You should have a shutoff valve controlling the water flow to the urinal, you can partially close that to restrict flow.
Or you might be able to fit a flow restriction washer
