Well the choices are so huge for applications. The time required to sift through the options are massive.

Anyway. Looking for a QR scanner? I tried various programs today with varied results. Some struggled to scan a coded 2D matrix link for downloading a program straight from a web page on my LCD, even with bright custom LSD display settings. Others would just plainly suck b@lls. Then I stumbled across Bee Tagg. What a Joy. Worked first time 100% and fast on both the Desire HD and N8. Good place to create your own coded tags too.

I was yearning for this capability before with little success. Now I can use it wherever I venture. :)

Look on the web page of the links you gave. There are a big black square with dots (information) on the web page, that is a QR coded matrix of information (2D barcode) which is in this case a HTML link to the downloadable application for the mobile phone. I just opened the BeeTagg scanner on the Desire, scanned that block and it gave me a link to the web page you posted. By selecting the link I was connected to the site and by selecting "Install" the job is done.

You may also read info from business cards instantly from such an encoded block or create your own 2D code directly in a contact manager on their web page. Many such QR codes links to info on Internet sites or from magazines and newspapers. 2D Barcodes on goods like food may give information on all the nutritional data encoded in that simple block of black dots.

Plus more. look at this site and select contacts to create a code tag for a VCard. Register and you can print the code in bitmap or pdf for others to scan.

Stumbled on other handy and usefull applications.

GPS tester.

http://www.appbrain.com/app/gps-test/com.chartcross.gpstest

Shows GPS information and SAT signals in use. Also shows the sun curve and UTC time/date Sunrise/Sunset times.

GPS Status and Toolbox

http://www.appbrain.com/app/gps-test/com.chartcross.gpstest

Some different indications like pitch and roll

Like some said:
-Find out exactly where you are with GPS, but also also your current speed, heading, and elevation. Also has a bubble-level and tilt indicators to help with other projects.

-Love it, helps to ensure gps is going properly before using other apps.
It apparently resets and downloads new A-GPS data and renews GPS performance

The best one by far is the Barcode Scanner app http://www.appbrain.com/app/barcode-scanner/com.google.zxing.client.android

Description: Scan barcodes on products then look up prices and reviews. You can also scan Data Matrix and QR Codes containing URLs, contact info, etc.

Also share your contacts, apps, and bookmarks via QR Code

Yeah? its a zxing client. Will try it.

PS: Also works great but the app cannot find my HTC Desire HD as product from the barcode on the web :), yet it found a Siemens industrial electric fuse base.
