The incredibly powerful Apple Mac Pro 2019

Apple has revealed its new Mac Pro desktop computer, which it said is the most powerful Mac computer it has ever created.

This new desktop PC boasts an impressive set of specifications and support for up to two AMD Radeon Pro Vega II Duo graphics cards.
 
1. It's actually very impressive. The horsepower really is extraordinary and the display will very possibly be the best on the market.

2. The cost is eyewatering. The crowd even laughed awkwardly when they said $5k for the display itself and another $1k for the fancy stand. And if the entry-level Mac Pro with 256GB storage starts at $6k, it be will hilariously expensive when pimped out.

My main takeaway from WWDC was the new SwiftUI toolkit. Jesus, developing with that will be the best thing since sliced bread if it's as good as indicated on stage. Too bad the next MacBook Pro design is slated for 2020 - no way I'm buying the current piece of s**t.
 
$5 999,00 plus $4 999,00 plus $999,00 is $11 997,00... then brackets, division, multiplication, carry the three, and yeah, that’s... well that’s 173 356 South African Rhonds.

You need lottery money for one of those, but I won’t lie, the Apple nerd in me might have had a minor trouser incident watching that presentation.

Pretty disgraceful that they couldn't at least throw in 512GB storage with the $6k configuration.

I wonder how much the maxed out model will cost. Surely not less than $50k.

No prices up on their site yet, but the options are a 20 minute long-read.

Why do I get this awful feeling that the next MacBook Pro may look similar to the current model but ala cheese grater and super shiny for improved thermals based on this design choice?
 
I’m holding off on the desktop side, waiting for the adoption of the next gen pcie slot and also to see if this whole ryzen hype is all it’s made out to be.
 
I give it less than a week before someone writes an article about how they can “build the same thing” for less money in a PC format.

Also completely missing the point when they try to play games on it.

You won't go wrong with a Ryzen CPU. I have two Ryzen 2700X based systems and they're amazing.

I was hoping that the new Mac Pro would be running Threadripper CPUs but Apple decided to stick with Intel...
