The iOS 10 Thread/Discussion

From what I see the 5 isn't supported, I haven't seen Apple's official release notes yet though so could be wrong.

Am wondering too and i know it is on the list of supported devices but wasn't this new system rewritten from scratch for 64-bit devices??

Scour the web for any proof it has been done unless EverythingApplePro has pushed his speedtest video by now :D.

Boy, am i slow :crylaugh:

That sounds incredibly unusual. We know the 5 is supported...so what's the issue. Pity I don't have a 5 to test for you

Gained 600Mb of free space on my iPad Pro after updating to 10.3 (funny enough the exact amount as with my 6S)

3 x apps on my iPad's app compatibility warning list, but nothing on my 6S (it just says "Applications" without the ">" to go into a submenu) so I assume all is in order with my phone apps.

Still no update available for my iPhone 5.

See video below for what is in the beta

Does that mean that Drifta will still work for now, but possibly not through the next iOS version?

Use it quite regularly - wouldn't want to lose its functionality due to DSTV/MC lagging with their updates...

See below, it's iTunes update only at present.

I have one in my car. I'll try remember to check tomorrow... If I forget, PM me :)

I hope you also have access to iTunes in the car :p

Just seen this:

Over-the-air iOS 10.3 update for iPhone 5, 5c pulled by Apple for reasons unknown

After a few hours of availability, Apple pulled the over-the-air iOS 10.3 update for the iPhone 5 and 5c, though the legacy devices can still be updated through iTunes on a Mac or PC.

Why the move was made is not yet clear. There is seemingly no swell of users complaining about failings of the update on social media, nor any indication of a large amount of failed updates on the older phone models with the 32-bit A6 processor.

The install process through iTunes remains the same as it has always been —following the connection of an iPhone to iTunes through a Lightning cable, users are given the option to update the device to the new operating system. AppleInsider has confirmed that the iTunes update installs properly on an iPhone 5c.

Well there isn't a sim in it, so it will have to come out of the car :p. Thanks for the info though!

No probs, I actually stumbled over it by accident and thought it would be worth a post here, it doesn't seem to be widely reported yet.

Have you noticed how much bigger app updates suddenly is, I guess because of the new file system? Biggest I've seen so far was Facebook's latest update being 320 MB, Facebook updates was always smaller than 200 MB. Not complaining, just find it interesting.

Don't see a diff. Under 200mb on 6S Plus with 10.3

We are if course not talking about cache files that could easily balloon the App storage to 500mb+
