The iOS 10 Thread/Discussion

I know there are so so many good to great Mail Apps on iOS. Alas I'm set in my ways & stick with the default Mail client. Works well enough in iOS 10 except for some occasional text formatting issues in threaded mails.

Small details but colour is new

I'm with you on this one...feel the same!

I have a weird problem with iOS 10. My maps doesn't work when my phone is locked. The phone provides me voice directions when the app is open, but when my phone locks, the app closes. iOS 9 created a blue bar and the home page had directions on it.

How to quickly filter emails on iPhone and iPad

Starting with iOS 10, you can easily filter out the contents of any of your email inboxes from the stock Mail app on your iPhone or iPad to find what you’re looking for. You no longer have to sort through your inbox by yourself, which is a real pain when you receive a ton of emails.

You know it would be a lot more convenient if you just added a small quote of what the link is about? Saves people clicking and wasting time and data on a link they might not be interested in...

I find Settings > General > Accessibility so much easier and more bandwidth friendly. ;)

For the lazy peeps

Settings > pull down for the search bar to show up and search for the setting :)

Try airmail, you won't look back.

Wow as a major Spotlight fan (my icons beyond the first page are in no order whatsoever) I'm amazed I didn't know you can search for settings.

Oh it's not Spotlight but rather inside Settings search. Knew about that one.

Would be a welcomed addition if they add it to spotlight.

It works on my 6 as well. Just cover the button and lift. No click required

I don't know what you are doing/using, but Raise to wake is not on the iPhone 6.

I've checked on my 6 and had a quick google.

Raise to Wake system requirements
The name of that chip is the M9 and, unlike previous motion coprocessors that were separate chips, it’s embedded right into the main Apple-designed application processor.

The devices that have an embedded M9 chip required for Raise to Wake are:

iPhone 6s
iPhone 6s Plus
iPhone SE
We’re expecting that support to extend to the iPhone 7 smartphones when they launch alongside iOS 10 this fall.

Can you check Settings - Display & Brightness and confirm you have a "Raise to Wake" option under "Auto-lock"?

I don't know what you guys are doing, I can't unlock the screen on the 6 without first waking the screen by clicking home or power...

Going to guess here that user above is unlocking the already woken phone by holding his finger there.

Well, that would work ;)

You have to select this in Accessibility...

On the iPhone 6 that only works if you wake the phone first (click home or click power or if the phone has woken up by a notification), at least on the one I have in my hand.
