Check in Settings under battery and you'll probably see that Siri uses a large percentage of your battery.
Go to Siri settings and turn off "search and Siri suggestions" for all apps which you think don't really need it. I turned it off for probably 75% of my apps and battery life improved a lot even though I'm a heavy Siri user.

Anyone here with a iPhone 6 updated to iOS11? Want to know about the general performance vs 10.3.3, I want to know if I can update a non tech savvy friends phone, if it's slower than 10.3.3 I'll rather not.

No regrets here.

Battery life on my devices is definitely less on iOS 11, but not excessively so. I do experience an app crash here and there, even when the app is up to date (i.e. WhatsApp). I am hoping an update will solve the issues, because it does feel less stable than iOS 10 at this stage.

As if the battery drain issues were not enough to make my blood boil. They add a 'feature' that when I turn Bluetooth OFF from Control Center, it fkn secretly puts Bluetooth back ON. :wtf:

I actually like this feature a lot. Often I just want to get rid of those pesky wifi hotspots at malls etc which wants you to sign in, but then I forget to go switch on wifi later when I get home, now that problem is solved. As for Bluetooth, I have a Apple Watch so never turn that off anyway.

I think these days with the advance in wifi and Bluetooth tech the battery drain is minimal if not in use, it's not like in the old days when it kept searching and searching for a device to connect.

I have siri disabled so its definitely not that. :(

Whats the point of having those buttons in the control centre then? Might as well take them off.

More of a general iPhone question not iOS11 specific, though keeping future software updates in mind as well.

If you have to choose a iPhone now, of the slightly older ones will you go 6s or SE? As I see it the main difference between the 2 is the screen size, then the 6s also has a slightly better front and back camera I think. Rest is the same, a9 chip, same RAM, same storage sizes, same Wifi and Bluetooth. Same touch ID generation?
iPhone 6s was Sept 2015 and SE was March 2016. Both currently have very similar pricing on contract.

My mother needs a new phone, upgrading from Galaxy S5 but she has a iPad and likes iOS. She doesn't need the power of a iPhone 7 or 8 and anyway don't want to pay so much.

Because they are extremely useful and allow you to disconnect from individual WiFi networks or Bluetooth devices. Far more useful than the old on/off only method previously.
