What about some recommendations for free Apps? My most useful one is PDF reader, then Documents 2 (which also allows editing on Google Docs), Dolphin HD, Dictionary, Dragon Dictation, Classic..

I suppose this is relevant for the iPhone as well, but look for the (free) app "appsfire" in the US app store. This will inform you whenever something is free for the day and recommend free and discounted apps. Pretty sweet if you are as cheap as I am.
 
Splashtop is current on special for 2.99 Dollars instead of the usual price of 20 Dollars. Not sure how long this special has been running.

Also tried out a free app "Air Playit HD" which works like StreamtoMe..i.e. install server on pc, share folders and access folders from ipad using the app. Seems to handle most formats fairly well.

It's been on "special" for quite some time now. Bought mine last month for the same price! Great little app. Especially when I am too lazy to get out of bed and need something done on the PC.

Jip, mostly use it to run iTunes on PC when I want to use the Remote app on phone/pad to stream to Airport Extreme.
 
Yeah. Unfortunately I don't have a wireless network running at my place.. so I only get to use it when I visit my brother (use it to access the media centre I set up for him :) )

Dont know if this has been posted aleady, just figured it out now. If you tap just above the URL bar when browsing a web page, it takes you to the top of that page. Handy when having scrolled way down a web page.

But it is incredibly restricted. What did you use for US address when you got your US account and how do you buy apps without being able to use a South African credit card?

There are several sites that generate valid addresses for you, can't recall now.

You buy iTunes vouchers and redeem them. We used to use middle men sites but you can now buy direct from Best Buy. They were slow yesterday, took half a day before I got the voucher.

Edit: when generating an address use a state without tax, I think Florida was what I used. Will update here tonight with urls etc.
