The Kempton Park Serial Killer thread

If "kill the woman, kill the bitch" was some sort of struggle song, your point might be valid. But it's not.

Julius' song sucks, but the amount of weight people give it is ridiculous, which is why I often ask who's singing the songs about blowing up CIT vans, or shooting tavern patrons.
What were they struggling against when they were singing kill the Boer right outside a courtroom where the murderers of a farmer were being tried.

I might add that even in the US, where they have the 1st amendment protections, they would have been told to have their protest somewhere else.
In their defense, WBC established that they had complied with all local ordinances and had obeyed police instructions. The picket was held in a location cordoned off by the police, approximately 1000 feet (300 m) from the church, from which it could be neither seen nor heard. Snyder testified that, although he glimpsed the tops of the signs from the funeral procession, he did not see their content until he watched a news program on television later that day. He also indicated that he had found the WBC's statements about his son on their webpage from a Google search.[21]

Had the state taken serious action against the literal normalisation of killing farmers,

The best way to make rural areas safer is to reduce crime overall, and that should be the focus. If Ernst, for example, ran off to orange man to create more awareness of crime levels overall, he'd have much more support. Instead, he creates division and further polarisation, which actually makes things worse.
The opposite is true as well. Addressing rural crime helps normal crime. Do you think after violently murdering and raping an elderly Afrikaans couple on their smallholding one of these thugs is going go home to their girlfriend and make peaceful, consensual love to them? Of course not. It is the same scumbags.

Just remember, when the ANC disbanded the commando system, they promised "rural security units" in the police. Which never happened.

I don't believe for one second that reducing rural crime would lead to a reduction in other crimes. That's a stretch of note.

And how do you think the township dweller, whose neighbours have just been taken out in a gruesome murder, feels about being told that a murder on a farm is now more important and their experience doesn't matter?

It doesn't help the cause at all.

You are not arguing very well. You literally made the case that the best way to reduce rural crime is fighting "normal crime".

Therefore if rural crime is normal crime, then addressing it reduces normal crime as well?

Also I can throw your statement back at you:
And how do you think the a farmer, whose family have just been taken out in a gruesome murder, feels about being told that a murder on n a township is now more important and their experience doesn't matter?
You are expecting farmers to do exactly the same thing, whilst listening to you and every other progressive say that Kill the Boer is just a metaphor, and being told that they are criminals whose land needs to be taken away

The reality is both are connected. Helping one helps the other, because rural areas are not that far away from urban areas.

Farmer Joubert Conradie, 47, of Uitkyk Farm in Klapmuts, died on Tuesday after he was shot by intruders in the early hours of the morning, and died shortly afterwards during emergency surgery, police have confirmed.

“The victim reacted to a noise in his residence [just before 01:00] when he was attacked and shot by unknown suspects, who fled empty handed,” police said in a statement, as reported by South Africa’s News 24.

DA MP Dianne Kohler Barnard posted a message on Facebook on Tuesday from Fanie Hattingh, of Mount Vernon Farm, on behalf of Marlene Conradie, of Uitkyk Farm in Klapmuts, confirming Joubert Conradie’s death and decrying “another farm attack…. another murder.”

“Joubert Conradie passed away at Stellenbosch MediClinic following a tragic shooting incident on Uitkyk Farm in Klapmuts around 01:30 this morning,

That is 10km away from Stellenbosch. Do you think it is out of the realms of possibility that the perpetrators of this crime don't live in Stellenbosch??

What does it matter where the perpetrators live? And much as I think that the stupid song sucks, there is no proven correlation between the song and farm attacks.

The ANC banned the singing of the song amongst their own members, and subsequently fell out with old Julius over it. They don't support it either. It's amazing that people think that one little idiot has so much influence - perhaps he should start singing songs about people voting for him instead.

The more attention he gets from singing it, the more he will sing it. Why give him that air?

All murders are bad. There's no scale here.

It matters because those perpetrators are going to go on and commit other crimes against other people, usually the people around them. Which are usually other black people. It is a rural crime becoming an urban crime, something that you said is literally impossible to happen.

Had there been a proper rural safety system like the commandos, the farmer would have had the network to rely on and called them immediately. Even if the murder still took place, it would have dramatically increased the chances of catching the perps. If they are caught, it is a murderer out of the community where they live. So there is less chance of crime for other people.

Any resource that goes towards fighting crime, helps everyone. The SA government right now is refusing US financial assistance for its own rural safety plan. That shows exactly what the type of people who you are defending are.

So now farm attacks are a gateway crime to other crimes, commited by first offenders? And if caught there and then, they couldn't go on to others?

No man, you can't be serious....
