Well, my girlfriend has decided to let me be her 'driver'

Yeap, I drive everywhere now in her car aka Golfie :p
But she asked that I put the following on her car...

Yeap!
If you see the above, I'm driving.

It's "A4" size so if you can't read it, you're fawking blind and since I don't have a colour printer, black and white will have to do! :)

My clutch control on a hill is not great thus the "Keep slightly back" part :)

I'm driving a white VW Golf... I've heard the clutch in these cars suck, it's true!

I never had worries doing hill starts in the Tazz I was learning in, but anyways.

I'm getting experience and I totally love it.

I kept mine off, only makes them more p1ssed at you. ;)

Maybe... but I would like to think that they would appreciate the fact that "WE WERE ALL at the 'L' stage"

I have a new respect for learner drivers basically because I am one.

Besides, I want people to see that "If I'm struggling" they can figure out why without losing a few brain cells ;)

Teehee.

Anyway, this is going to help you out a lot in getting your licence quicker. More experience the better.

I thought it had to be red - or is that only in the UK?

No, I'm sure it has to be Red, but since I don't have access to a colour printer - whatever.

I doubt a traffic cop is going to pull me over for it being in black and white.

awesome dude :) well now that you are her driver you can be her handbag too and carry everything ;) just make sure that you dont make any mistakes, otherwise she'll laugh at you ;)

No, but she gets very nervous.

Like last night, I was parking, but I wanted to move away from the car (down a hill) so I reversed, but I rolled a bit and she freaked out (thought I was going to hit the car) but my clutch took at the right time and I reversed nicely.

How she feels and panics and such is understandable.

This time of year they're using any excuse - but I was just curious about the red. :)

yah, print just the lines, bring the paper to a kindergarten, and have every kid colouring it in. the one who's the prettiest you hang up :D

just joking :)

print it white and use a red marker to colour it.
legally it has to be red

If I feel inspired, I'll redo it today.
If not, I'll take my chances :)

:D Bad joke, but I sense hope for you...

Keep the "L" when i see a vehicle with a "L" allow for more following distance and i give that person space to learn, but when i come across a Leaner driver without the "L" my blood starts to boil.

If I see a learner driver with an L driving like a monkey I get the moer in... like driving in the fast lane of a 2lane road.. or straddling both lanes and blocking all normal traffic.

I also don't understand why driving schools take their "students" out into the busiest roads during Peak hour traffic.... esp when these ppl are clearly k@kking themselves.

Because, it's to give you experience and put you under pressure and that you can learn to do the right hings in the right situations.

Imagine, you do the driving in quiet areas, you get into traffic and you don't know how to 'deal' with traffic (lane changing, people cutting people off etc)

Can you imagine that? Accident waiting to happen.

to learn you have to be thrown in the deep end:D

As a fellow "L" driver I must say that im really dissapointed at the way other drivers treat us. Just Sunday I was sworn at for not driving in the slow lane...even though my instructor told me when im going for my exam theres no fast and slow lane.
Youd think that your fellow drivers whould be more understanding.
I baught the "L"(ooser) sign from CNA for R25 but dont have a car to put it on:(
