Motormouth review of the 2024 IS 300

Still very similar to my 2014 IS350 which I bought in August last year, especially the interior. They don't mess with perfection.

The poor lineup in this country means that, if am buying new today, I am forced to go hybrid / CVT, I by far prefer the 228kW V6 with 8 speed ZF box driving the rear wheels. They have completely disembowelled the IS' sporty character
And the best part is that I paid under R200K for it, vs starting prices of R1 million plus. :)

It's 10 years old this year, so she's still a 10 year old car with 165000 on the clock, but she was serviced regularly by one fastidious owner (verified the records at two separate Lexus dealerships), and she is still in good nick, I'd say 9/10, almost showroom condition, garaged in the evening and undercover during the day. We Buy Cars offered the owner a paltry R185K, so it was pretty easy to give him a better deal.
I waited many months for the right one, but they are available, one just has to be patient, and very selective. The smile on my face matches my tingling ears when I engage sport mode and put my foot down.
