I've now switched to Lubuntu. Much more lightweight than even Xubuntu!

The fact that there is even a top 10 is worrying. It must mean its too easy to create a distro. On what levels do they really differ? Package manager, desktop environment and default software. wow, can't they just make that configurable at runtime?

I'd like to see Lubuntu running on my iPad2. Maybe one day ;)

Poor article. The Ubuntu listing only mentions Unity, but no mention of Kubuntu, Lubuntu, Xubuntu etc, and what differentiates them. As seen by the comments, Lubuntu is gaining popularity based on its reputation as suitable for older machines yet polished and well-featured. Why is Mint being based on another distro a negative when this applies to so many others, including Ubuntu? Mandriva and Mageia are not the same thing. Mandriva's parent company is no longer in trouble and is progressing well, while Mageia is developed by many of the old Mandriva developers.

After trying a few distributions I settled on Mint Linux which is in my opinion better than Ubuntu. (I just can't deal with that brown interface )

I agree. What they need is some sort of ability to change the colour scheme of whatever window manager you are using currently. Oh wait they do it's called THEMES.
