The LONMIN share price thread

thought you were gonna sell?

I'm going to sell on this week

I was about to and then I looked at my EE account and realised I made 200% on Lonmin since January 2016

So my plan, I'm going to sell the instant that it falls.

Well the Kuwait oil workers union strike has ended earlier this morning, which has seen the oil price dropping with the dollar strengthening, which in turn has quenched investors risks appetite towards emerging markets.

But lets face it, Lonmin doesn't comply to any market related incidents, it doesn't follow any rules or guidelines.

The reason I don't want to sell just get, is because we all know when lommy wakes up the day that it does that lekker 17 odd percent in a day climb and then it goes back to sleep for a month or so.

Deep down inside, I'm hoping lommy wakes up before Friday

I sold some lonmin at 31.60, thinking it was about to start falling. Doh!

A while ago I bought some at 38, thinking it would keep going up. I'm so conflicted right now.

Those of you who have made profit on Lonmin should keep just a handful of shares longterm.

It's essentially free money and you never know what happens over the next five or ten years.

I am still an amateur, but one thing seems all the more apparent to me. Commodity prices will raise again come 2018 and if lonmin is still in business then there is going to be some massive money to be made.

I think the bigger question to ask is, will lonmin still be here for the next 8 years, if they are then I will gladly go a short on off 5 year roller coaster term with them.

Well that's why I figured if you already made some money you've got nothing to lose.

Just hold onto some shares long term.

I bought in December with the intention of not touching it till the end of the year.
If I had been more active I could have doubled the amount of shares I have now, but I'm still up 50% so I'm not too upset.

I understand what you mean, and I agree I won't plush any more money into it apart from the "profit money" I reinvest.

I think reinvest is the wrong word... Reingamble rather. :sly:

Hoping for a good day

Sell 70%, keep 30%?

Wouldn't you be doing better with KIO? It's outperforming LON (by 60%) just this year alone. Since you are not scared of risk etc.

@Hamster, I hear you, but me and lommy have an understanding, I know it's moods and behavior.

Going into an affair now with KIO might bite me, so I'll rather not.

I am so afraid atm!!! guys.

Lommy is so close to R40....

I don't want to sell now and then it hits R40 :(

You are right.

Does anyone have a current price for lommy.

Let me just sell this beauty and escape

The price of platinum has been climbing at an alarming rate over the past 3 days, from $975 to the current $1020
