The LONMIN share price thread

Are you buying the shares in the name of your IT company or personal name?

Trading shares, even as a side line under your own name while being fulltime employed still falls within the same rules. Basically a sole prop that's trading in shares.

Yeah that's what I reckoned you were getting at with a sole prop concept.

But doesn't a sole prop still pay tax like everyone else? Or does it then fall under "business tax" rules?

At this stage I'm still well under the tax thresholds with these things so haven't panicked about it just yet, but always good to have informative comments like these.

It does make sense.

Sole props are taxed using the individual tax tables so all taxable income gets added and taxed at the marginal rate applicable.

Corporate tax rate only apply to registered companies(pty, cc, etc).

Just putting another tax deduction option on the table. No point in paying tax on R10k profit if that same R10k was utilised to buy additional shares for trading with.

Oh I'm quite competent myself thank you very much.

Just based on your comments in this thread and only using the tax reports from easy equities to submit your tax return, I can almost guarantee that a professional would have saved you more than what it would have cost you to have them do the tax return.

True, but I barely have money in there so it's so little doubt it'll make a difference.

When I get to that 900K range in EasyEquities then I will get someone to do my tax for me or run it though the company and just keep the TFSA in my name which is tax free so that's all good. But right now it's not needed imo.

might be worth a small punt at R32 - with a stop at R28.45. But wouldn't do it myself.

I'll wait till after the market corrections in early 2017.

Last thing I want is to be tied to commodities when the JSE falls 50%

Lonmin has fallen quite a bit, might be nearing a new buy point gamble. Thoughts?

It went up to near R40 after its results announcement a couple of weeks ago in November, now its around R25.

My personal entry will be at R15

Lommy is pulling her tricks again.

Begging me to take her back.

Desperate slut.

I wouldn't buy. If any company does a rights issue without expanding rapidly I'm out for good unless management changes significantly
