The LONMIN share price thread

The PIC is one of those underwriting the rights issue. I read somewhere that they intend on taking their shareholding from 7 to 25%. They're probably acting on government mandate to save jobs and will thus try and prevent the company folding. It's a huge gamble on pensioners money they're taking

The ANC doesn't give a shyte about pensioners money. They more interested in not letting those miners lose their jobs and sending more people the way of the EFF

So recently I bought lonmin PLC shares but I bought them out of curiosity, is lonmin ever going to recover. they are around 60 to 70c per share...and show no signs of hope. I spent R500 on them hope one day they will surprise me...who else bought them and do u guys have hope

Quite a few guy son here bought. SOme even made R300K in one day. There is hope, but not in the short term. The rights issue on Monday will see the price drop further, I think, but I feel that Lonmin might get a bail out from the government due to pressure from Cosatu to save the 35 000 jobs. My feeling is that the price will slowly start rising again in the new year.

Just like the rest of South Africa, its all in the toilet

How the hell does one make money in this climate if you can't afford to invest offshore?

We will be downgraded.

Maybe then a buy into lonmin right before the 14th? By this time the bad news of a downgrade would have settled and the market would have fell a bit and stabalised? Lonmin shares should be cheaper right before the 14th?

Then just hope it recovers by April 2016. haha

Yep, this is the 1st time I buy shares, my attitude is basically, buy and forget.

This is why Lonmin and the rest of the JSE is doing badly. I want to buy another R2k in Lonmin but will wait to see what happens on Friday. If we get downgraded then I will rather keep my money, if not then I buy.

Jsus! F0kol consistency

Why not just sat xx% up or down.

So maybe buy now for 2016 boom?

Im sure 2016 will see growth, just hang in there

2016 is going to be a difficult year the SA economy will be back on track in 2019 since Eskom is only really going to have a grip on itself in 2020

Without reliable power, and incompetent ANC government the SA economy offers outside investors nothing more than Colombia which I think has the same rating as us now? Or we are getting that rating or the S&P gave us that rating something like that.

i'll add DBXUS to that list

DBWD = 60 US weighted

So there is no need to take DBXUS which is just the US since the US will under perform at times.

So I prefer DBXWD ( 60% US which is good and what we want, but I still reap rewards if smaller economies outperform the US )
