So currently Lonmin trades at R13.32? How soon could consolidation be done and see if the company can sustain the R10+ rally.

This means the share price will need to go up to R42 for me to get my money back :(

I'm a sad (but accepting) panda.

I have a feeling...this company is ****ed :p

They are.

Their holding company will probably during the course of the first half of next year close all operations in SA leaving the government with the operations. The ANC will probably get some Chinese groups to buy into these operations.

But, Lonmin is gone.

There were ample warning all over, even earlier in this thread. Everyone was willing to take the gamble, which this far, did not pay off, unfortunately for many.

Obviously, but it couldn't have gone any direction. That is why this was (still is) a gamble.

A part of me is thinking of buying Lonmin using R5k. the reason is that I don't think commodity prices will remain low for eternity. Once the price of platinum starts increasing, the share price of Lonmin will also increase because it will be profitable to mine platinum now.

I remember a few years ago when the Telkom price was falling, and many people on this forum said they would never buy Telkom ever. The share price was at R60 I think, and went to as low as about R12. It started rising after bottoming from R12 to about R70. I learned my lesson as I didn't benefit at all from Telkom's share price rise.

Regarding Lonmin, the R5k will be money I'll be willing to lose (depends if I get a bonus or not ;).
