The LONMIN share price thread

Closed at 49c, I've already doubled my money

So I can take up the rights issue at 21.4c and then sell to recover my costs and see what happens to the price lol. Think I'll do just that in the a.m.

R5k profit for me :wtf:

tempting to drop out for a quick buck...but maby I should keep it for the ride....

How do you do that, and when do they offer you rights option?

Freaking hell the share price just shot up over 63% in a couple of hours

Silly question maybe, but I am so new to this. Say the current share price is 50c and you take up the rights offer at 10c, are the new shares purchased valued at 10c or at the current price of 50c?

** Edit ** NM, Google answered my question.

Somebody is buying Lonmin, however. They haven’t been put off by the wildcat strikes by disgruntled employees, almost as worryingly, the employee dash to grab whatever redundancy they can while the money is still on the table. More than 3,000 have already taken redundancy or early retirement. High rates of wage inflation in South Africa won’t help, which Lonmin has to fund from its falling revenues. Productivity is flat or falling and with zero diversification, it is now at the mercy of events. Even the rights issue may not be enough to save it.

There may be a case to invest now if you think we are due an imminent revival in metals prices, but with commodity prices still falling, I’m glad to be out of it.

Making big calls on companies like these two is just one way to get rich from investing in stocks and shares.

Seems you can buy from EE even if you were not a shareholder last week?

I'll gove it a go after 9 and see if actually possible...

EE is fantastic, FNB can go suck a donkey off, I have no idea whats going on with the share platform, its counter intuitive, dumb and you need a degree just to read the headline. Id cash out now if I didn't have to take such a huge knock
