To be honest i am not a Rooney fan. Rooney was made out to be the next best thing in typical British fashion, i feel sad that they are doing it to Theo Walcot now.

It has made Rooney probably the most overrated striker in the EPL. Im sure that with Berba there he will get better, but he needs to learn to play his role. I think that is the most important thing. There has been too many occasions where u see Rooney tracking back to defend, and people wonder why he scores so little goals. Its cos he is defending.

I am not a Liverpool fan.

Fact: Ronaldo is the first player from the EPL to win a fifa world player of the year award.

Serie a and La Liga has had these players for the past decades! So dont feel too proud there

Milan won it in the 2006-2007 (Messi was second in this season, not the above, which is when they won it)

No supa and i are correct. Messi won it in 2007! I can tell you are getting confused because of the seasons.

Barca won it in the year 2006 aka 2005/2006 - The award is given the following year = 2007

So in 2007 - K*aka won it and Messi came second.

Another example to help you in your confused state:

Ronaldo is going to take the award home in 2009

He perfomed in the 2007/2008 season - so he will get his award the following year which is in 2009.

According to you our double will still reflect in the 2009 season..get a grip dude..we might still be considered the champions in 2009 as the final is only played in May 2009, but the criteria for who will be Player of the year for 2009 will be taken from the season of 2008-2009.

The year K@ka won it was for the season Aug2006-May2007...
And therefore my point is that, you cant argue that Messi got second place as a result of Barca winning the double...because as we all know in the season Aug2006-May2007 --> Barca won NOTHING!!!
